Back-to-Back Champions! Dublin Girls Lacrosse Wins EBAL Valley Title, Reaches NCS Semifinals


The Dublin High School girls lacrosse team has done it again. For the second consecutive year, the Gaels have captured the East Bay Athletic League (EBAL) Valley Division Championship, cementing their status as a rising powerhouse in North Coast Section (NCS) lacrosse.

Following their stellar league run, the Gaels carried their momentum straight into the 2026 NCS Division 2 Championships, where they proved they belong among the region’s elite by battling all the way to the tournament’s semifinal round.


Dominance in the EBAL Valley

Winning a championship once is tough; defending it is even harder. Entering the season with targets on their backs, Dublin rose to the challenge by sweeping through league play to claim back-to-back EBAL Valley League titles.

The Gaels’ high-powered offense and disciplined defensive units allowed them to control the tempo of the league from start to finish, earning them the #8 seed in a highly competitive NCS Division 2 bracket.


A Thrilling Postseason Run

Dublin’s postseason journey was defined by grit, dramatic finishes, and an unforgettable quarterfinal upset.

  • First Round (May 5): Dublin 9, Dougherty Valley 8 The Gaels opened the playoffs at home against a familiar local foe, #9 Dougherty Valley. In a tense, wire-to-wire battle, Dublin made the crucial stops late in the second half to secure a thrilling 9-8 victory and advance.

  • Quarterfinals (May 7): Dublin 12, Justin-Siena 9 Heading into the quarterfinals, the Gaels faced their toughest test yet: a road matchup against the tournament’s top-seeded juggernaut, #1 Justin-Siena. Refusing to be intimidated by the bracket positioning, Dublin played their most complete game of the season. They executed beautifully on transition and stunned the #1 seed with a definitive 12-9 upset.

  • Semifinals (May 12): University 12, Dublin 7 Dublin’s historic run finally came to an end in the Final Four, where they fell to a tough #4 University squad. Despite the semifinal exit, the Gaels fought until the final whistle, concluding a remarkable season that established them as one of the top four teams in the section.
